You and Me and HSV
A safe place to land after a STI diagnosis
Just diagnosed?
Welcome, you're safe here

It may not feel like it right now, but a diagnosis is just one chapter in your life, not your whole story.

Everyone reacts to a diagnosis differently. Lots of people say that they feel dirty, unclean or unlovable. You might feel overwhelmed, scared and/or confused right now, and thats usually because of the social stigma surrounding sexual health. I'm here to help you realise that you're not dirty or unclean, and you haven't done anything wrong. You're not damaged or broken, and your sex life is definitely not over!

While the physical symptoms of STIs can be uncomfortable, it’s often the psychological weight (the confusion, fear, or shame) that hits the hardest. And that's what I’m here to help you with. Together, let's move past the stigma and back to feeling confident and in control after your diagnosis.
I know it's incredibly temping to keep scrolling through Reddit threads or spiralling on Google. But it's important to remember there is a lot of misinformation (bullshit) out there so it's best to stick to accurate info on credible websites.

Everything you read here is based on current Australian clinical guidelines and evidence, translated into plain English. I’ve done the vetting for you so you can stop searching and going around in circles, and start breathing.

You bring the questions and the "is this normal?" thoughts. I’ll bring the knowledge and the reassurance. You’ve got this!

Knowledge is power.
All STIs and infections associated with sex have their own set of symptoms, management and advice.
Learning more about your diagnosis helps you to feel more confident within yourself.

Depending on the infection you’ve been diagnosed with, you might be legally required to tell your partners, or you might not have to tell your partners.
